Description:
This workshop aims to help interpreters understand the interpreting process, recognizing fundamental differences between American Sign Language (ASL) and English to enhance their work in voice interpreting.
The workshop will delve into the basic steps of the interpreting process; comprehension, deverbalization, and reformulation and the application of deliberate practice in improving the skillset in working from ASL to English.
Participants will complete deliberate practice exercises thatisolate the steps ofthe process in orderto identify any weakness or opportunities for growth while working from ASL to spoken English.
Presentation will be in ASL.
