    Community of Practice Description:

Some interpreter’s work seems clear and effortless. Maybe they’re born with it- maybe it’s preparation! Taking time to prepare for an assignment allows us to provide effective communication and make ethical decisions by following the NAIE’s Code of Ethics and the RID-NAD Code of Professional Conduct. Please join us for a Community of Practice event to discuss Pre-Commitment and Pre-Encounter interpreting activities, preparation strategies, and prediction strategies.

Discussions will be fully interactive to facilitate interpersonal support and complex professional dialogue. This Community of Practice event will benefit working educational interpreters, community interpreters, and interpreting students.

Discussion will be in Spoken English with ASL Interpretation.

    Discussion Moderators:

     Courtney Stevens and Victoria Troupe

Cancellation Policy: Refunds will be given until the day of the event.

Accommodation requests must be received 7 days prior to the workshop.

This Professional Studies program is offered for 0.3 CEUs at the little to no Knowledge Level. No partial CEUs will be offered.

NVRID complies with applicable Federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex.

ASL Communication is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for continuing education activities.
