Laugh and Learn: Self-Care

Workshop Description: Like interpreting, self-care is a skill-based practice. We all know we are supposed to engage in self-care but may not know how. Or, we may know how but life gets in the way, again. Please join us for a community of practice event to discuss the importance of self-care, types of self-care activities that may benefit you, reducing or removing barriers to self-care practices, and the creation of an action plan for self-care. Discussions will be fully interactive, so be ready to provide your resources, learn from others, and, above all, laugh together!

Educational Objectives:
Participants will be able to describe the importance of self-care, list examples of self-care activities and specify those that may be of benefit to them, describe barriers to participation in self-care and how to reduce or remove them, and create and action plan to incorporate or continue self-care in their routine.

This professional studies program is offered for 0.2 CEUs. Participants need little/no prior knowledge of this topic. No partial CEUs will be offered. Target audience for this workshop: working interpreters of all levels, including IPP/ITP students.
